“Granny’s Recipes” project of Sumy Volunteer Network “Community” has already became one of our most favorite. On Friday, with Shabbat coming up, we cooked a special festive dish — gefilte fish. This dish is rather difficult in preparation though products specified in recipe are common and inexpensive. All remembered how their moms or grannies prepared fish, and each of housewives had her own secret. We also had our own recipe to which every participant added his/ her “cherry on top”. Process of cooking was very nice and warm-hearted. To serve fish on Friday’s evening as Talmud prescribes is a centuries-old tradition of all Jews from East to West
