This year our entire Jewish community of Sumy city was actively preparing for the Tu B’Shvat holiday.
“Holiday in Every House” is a volunteer project of the Sumy Volunteer Network “Community”. This time more than 80 people of different ages took part in it – some of them created gifts, others delivered them, and others received.
Teenagers and youngsters prepared gifts for our wards by themselves – candlesticks in the form of a star of David and homemade soap. Children prepared flowers from felt. The volunteers baked cakes in the form of rose and packed them with the SVC logo.
Many of our wards are physically inactive and are not able attend the celebration. Older people are very pleased that the Jewish community remembers them and takes care of them. The volunteers delivered 40 gift sets and congratulated our wards on the Tu B’Shvat holiday.
